The GREENFIELD 304-6 is a galvanized steel clevis hanger designed to support 6-inch nominal pipe size in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC piping systems. It accepts a 3/4-inch threaded rod connection and carries a rated load capacity of 1,940 pounds, making it suitable for heavier piping runs found in commercial and industrial installations. The galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance in damp or exposed environments. The clevis-style design allows for vertical adjustment during installation, giving the installer flexibility to fine-tune pipe elevation and maintain proper slope. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary trades working with this hanger type.
This clevis hanger is used in suspended piping applications where threaded rod is anchored to structural steel, concrete deck, or beam framing above. It is appropriate for both horizontal pipe runs and transitional supports in commercial mechanical rooms, industrial process piping, and large-scale plumbing rough-in work. The 6-inch nominal size targets mid- to large-diameter piping commonly found in main supply lines, chilled water systems, and drain mains. The hanger measures 10.75 inches in length, 8.6 inches in width, and 1.55 inches in height, fitting standard framing layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit clevis hanger for 6-inch nominal pipe size applications using 3/4-inch threaded rod suspension systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or mechanical contractors working under IPC or IFGC guidelines as applicable. Shut down and de-pressurize any active piping system before repositioning or replacing hangers. Threaded rod and hardware should be sized and torqued according to the structural engineer of record or applicable project specifications. Verify that the overhead anchor point is rated to handle the combined load of the pipe, contents, insulation, and hanger assembly before final installation.
