The GREEN LEAF SE 38 P is a 90-degree street elbow fitting made from black polypropylene. It connects male iron pipe thread (MIPT) on one end to female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on the other, allowing a direction change in a piping run without requiring a separate coupling. This fitting is used in low-pressure plumbing and fluid-handling systems where a street configuration is needed — meaning it threads directly into another fitting without a nipple in between. Polypropylene construction provides resistance to corrosion, many common chemicals, and moisture. The fitting carries NSF 61 and NSF 372 certifications, making it suitable for potable water applications.
This fitting is well suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations, irrigation systems, and fluid distribution lines where 3/8-inch pipe is used. The street elbow configuration is common when connecting branch lines directly into tees, unions, or valves to reduce the number of fittings in a tight space. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting in water supply and distribution systems. Its black polypropylene body is also compatible with systems handling certain chemical solutions where metal fittings would corrode.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/8-inch threaded pipe systems using standard NPT connections in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before threading this fitting into the system. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus the number of turns recommended by your local code — do not over-torque plastic fittings, as this can crack the fitting body. Pressure-test the assembly before returning the system to service.
