The GREEN LEAF RM 1214 is a nylon plastic reducer nipple designed for reducing pipe connections from 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch. It features male iron pipe thread (MIPT) end connections on both sides, allowing it to thread directly into standard female-threaded fittings or ports. The white nylon construction resists corrosion and chemical attack, making it suitable for water distribution and fluid handling applications. This fitting meets NSF 61 and NSF 372 certification standards, confirming it is tested for use in potable water systems and compliant with lead-free requirements. Plumbers, pipefitters, and irrigation technicians commonly install this type of reducer nipple when transitioning between pipe sizes in low-pressure systems.
This reducer nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, water treatment, and fluid distribution systems where a threaded reduction from 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch is required. Its MIPT x MIPT configuration suits installations where both connection points accept male-threaded fittings. The nylon material makes it appropriate for applications where metal fittings may corrode or where weight reduction is a consideration. Typical install scenarios include connecting supply lines to filtration equipment, RO systems, or instrumentation ports.
Designed as a standard MIPT x MIPT reducer nipple for use in 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch threaded pipe connections conforming to NPT thread standards in potable water and fluid handling systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installing or replacing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or a compatible pipe thread compound to the male threads before assembly to ensure a leak-free connection. Do not over-tighten nylon fittings, as excessive torque can crack the fitting body.
