The GREEN LEAF FTC 38 is a 3/8-inch nylon pipe coupling designed for joining same-size pipe sections using female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends. Constructed from white nylon plastic, this coupling is lightweight and resistant to corrosion, making it a practical choice for potable water and general plumbing applications. At 0.05 pounds, it is easy to handle during installation in tight spaces. The coupling carries NSF 61 and NSF 372 certifications, confirming it meets standards for contact with drinking water and low lead content. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial systems where a durable, code-compliant threaded coupling is required.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where 3/8-inch threaded connections are used. FIPT x FIPT end connections allow it to thread onto male-threaded pipe or fittings on both sides, making it useful for repairs, extensions, or inline connections in water supply lines, irrigation systems, and similar low-pressure fluid-handling applications. Its nylon construction makes it an alternative to brass or steel fittings in environments where metal corrosion is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded coupling for 3/8-inch FIPT applications in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where nylon fittings are appropriate.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the male threads before making up the connection — do not overtighten nylon fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque. Verify that system operating pressure and temperature are within the rated limits of nylon fittings before returning the line to service.
