The GREEN LEAF EL 3438 GP is a male hose-to-barb connector designed for garden hose and irrigation applications. It features a 3/4-inch Male Garden Hose Thread (MGHT) on one end and a 3/8-inch barb on the other, allowing a standard garden hose thread source to connect directly to flexible barbed tubing or hose. The fitting is molded from polypropylene, making it lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and suitable for low-pressure water service. Irrigation technicians, plumbers, and landscape professionals use this type of transition fitting when routing water from a hose bib, manifold, or threaded outlet into smaller-diameter flexible tubing runs.
This fitting is commonly used in residential and light commercial irrigation systems, drip systems, and general water-distribution setups where a threaded garden hose connection must transition to a barbed tubing run. Typical installations include connecting supply lines to drip emitter tubing, soaker hose assemblies, or portable spray equipment. The polypropylene construction handles standard outdoor water service conditions and resists the minor chemical exposure common in irrigation and pool-deck environments.
Designed as a standard transition fitting compatible with 3/4-inch MGHT threaded garden hose connections and 3/8-inch inside-diameter flexible barbed tubing used in residential irrigation and general water-distribution applications.
Shut off the water supply completely before installing or removing any hose fittings. Hand-tighten the MGHT thread connection first, then snug with pliers if needed — avoid overtightening polypropylene threads, as this can crack the fitting. Secure the barb end with an appropriate hose clamp to prevent blowoff under line pressure. No thread sealant tape is typically required on garden hose threads, but a single wrap of PTFE tape may be used if a drip-free seal is needed.
