The GOODMAN grvm970803bn is a 97 AFUE modulating gas furnace engineered for upflow and horizontal installations in residential and light-commercial applications. It delivers 80,000 BTU/h at high-fire input with a high-fire output capacity of 77,600 BTU/h, operating through a variable-speed ECM blower motor rated at 1/2 hp. The modulating gas valve stages heat output between 40,000 BTU/h (low fire) and 80,000 BTU/h (high fire), allowing precise temperature control and reduced cycling. The unit runs on 115-volt, single-phase, 60 Hz AC power and carries ENERGY STAR certification. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and startup.
The grvm970803bn is suited for residential forced-air heating systems where high-efficiency performance and quiet variable-speed airflow are required. The upflow and horizontal configurations make it adaptable to basement, closet, and attic installations. With a maximum airflow rate of 1,595 cubic feet per minute at high heating speed and a nominal cooling capacity of 36,000 BTU/h, this furnace integrates into split systems carrying up to 3 tons of cooling. The Non-NOx burner design supports installation in regions with low-emissions requirements. Communication-capable controls allow integration with compatible thermostats and zoning systems.
Part of the GRVM97 series. Designed for upflow and horizontal forced-air system installations supporting up to 3 tons of nominal cooling capacity. Compatible with 2-inch and 3-inch vent diameter configurations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54), local mechanical codes, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing. Vent sizing and combustion air provisions must comply with applicable codes for high-efficiency condensing appliances. Do not connect this furnace to a shared vent system designed for standard-efficiency equipment without verifying compatibility.
