The Goodman gphh56031 is a 5-ton, two-stage self-contained packaged heat pump rated at 15.2 SEER2 and 6.8 HSPF2. It delivers both cooling and heating from a single outdoor cabinet, eliminating the need for a separate indoor air handler or furnace. The unit runs on R-32 refrigerant and includes an onboard Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) factory-programmed for R-32. The heavy-gauge galvanized-steel cabinet carries a UV-resistant powder-coat finish suited for long-term outdoor exposure. Designed for ground-level or rooftop installation, the only field connections required are supply and return ducts, line and low-voltage wiring, and a drain connection. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this unit.
The gphh56031 is suited for residential and light-commercial applications where a ducted, all-electric heating and cooling system is required in a single package. Its two-stage compressor and multi-speed blower allow the unit to match load more precisely, reducing runtime at full capacity under moderate conditions. The horizontal configuration supports both slab-mount and rooftop curb applications. Optional electric heat kits in 5, 8, 10, 15, or 20 kilowatt configurations can be field-installed as auxiliary or emergency heat. The unit is also rated as mobile-home compatible and is approved for use in the North, Southeast, and Southwest U.S. regions per AHRI certification number 217231867.
Designed for ducted horizontal packaged heat pump applications in residential and light-commercial settings. Compatible with standard packaged unit roof curbs and ground pads sized for a 38 x 65 inch footprint. Return air opening is 14 x 24 inches; supply air opening is 14 x 14 inches. Approved for North, Southeast, and Southwest U.S. regions. AHRI certified under number 217231867 with Qualified Manufacturer ID I7Q6.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power at the service disconnect before performing any wiring or service work. The unit operates on 208 to 230 volts single-phase power and requires a minimum circuit ampacity of 40.64 amps with a maximum fuse or breaker rating of 60 amps — verify the service panel capacity before installation. Rooftop installations require a matching curb assembly; confirm curb dimensions match the unit footprint prior to ordering.
