The GOODMAN gphh53031 is a 2.5-ton horizontal packaged heat pump rated at 15.2 SEER2 and designed for ducted, single-phase residential and light commercial applications. It delivers 27,000 BTU/h of cooling capacity and 26,000 BTU/h of nominal heating capacity using R-32 refrigerant and a single-stage scroll compressor. The unit runs on 208/230 volts at 60 Hz and features a multi-speed indoor blower motor with five speed settings. A TXV expansion device and copper condenser coil with aluminum evaporator coil come factory-charged with 99 oz of R-32. ETL listing confirms the unit meets applicable safety standards. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this equipment.
The gphh53031 is configured for horizontal installation, making it suited for applications where vertical clearance is limited, such as crawlspace or attic installations in residential construction, or rooftop horizontal-discharge configurations in light commercial settings. The ducted design connects directly to existing ductwork. The unit supports supplemental electric heat kits up to 14.25 kW, with compatible accessory heat kits listed as HKP-05C, HKP-10C, HKP-15C, HKR-08C, HKTPD051, HKTPD081, HKTPD101, and HKTPD151. Airflow at high speed is rated at 1,050 cubic feet per minute for both heating and cooling modes.
Compatible electric heat kit accessories include HKP-05C, HKP-10C, HKP-15C, HKR-08C, HKTPD051, HKTPD081, HKTPD101, and HKTPD151. Designed as a self-contained horizontal packaged heat pump for ducted residential and light commercial systems requiring a single-phase 208/230-volt power supply.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding an EPA Section 608 certification, as this unit uses R-32 refrigerant, which is classified as mildly flammable (A2L). Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing. Confirm supply voltage is within the 197-volt minimum and 253-volt maximum range before energizing. Refer to local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for minimum circuit ampacity of 20.75 A and maximum overcurrent protection of 30 A, when sizing disconnect and wiring.
