The GOODMAN glxs4ba460 is a 5-ton central air conditioner condenser rated at 14.3 SEER2 and designed for use with R-32 refrigerant. It is built around a Copeland scroll compressor, which delivers consistent cooling output, low-noise operation, and long service life. The cabinet is constructed from galvanized steel with a gray baked-on powder-coated finish that has been tested to 500 hours of salt spray resistance, making it suitable for coastal or corrosive environments. Heat transfer is handled by 5mm copper tubing paired with enhanced aluminum fins. The unit is AHRI-certified and ETL-listed, confirming that its rated performance and safety characteristics have been independently verified. This condenser is intended for installation by licensed HVAC technicians.
The glxs4ba460 is designed for residential and light commercial split-system cooling applications. It uses R-32 refrigerant, which carries a lower Global Warming Potential than R-410A and offers higher thermodynamic efficiency. Because this unit is R-32 specific, it must be paired with indoor coils and components rated for R-32 systems. It is not backward-compatible with R-410A equipment. This unit is appropriate for new installations and retrofit projects where R-32 system components are used throughout.
Designed for use in R-32 split-system cooling configurations. Must be installed with indoor coils and system components specifically rated for R-32 refrigerant. This unit is not compatible with R-410A indoor coils or components.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling R-32 refrigerant. Disconnect and lock out all power to the system before beginning any installation or service work. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines when sizing line sets, electrical connections, and indoor coil pairings for R-32 systems. Do not mix R-32 components with R-410A equipment at any point in the system.
