The GOODMAN arvt961205dn is a 96 AFUE, two-stage, variable-speed ECM upflow/horizontal gas furnace rated at 120,000 BTU/h high-fire input and 115,320 BTU/h high-fire output. It delivers 84,000 BTU/h at low-fire input and 80,724 BTU/h at low-fire output, allowing the system to match heating demand and reduce short-cycling. The unit runs on 115 volts, single-phase, 60 Hz power and requires a minimum circuit ampacity of 13.8 amps with a maximum overcurrent protection of 20 amps. It is manufactured in the United States and carries ANSI certification and ETL listing. Licensed HVAC technicians install this furnace in residential and light-commercial applications.
This furnace is configured for upflow and horizontal installation, making it suitable for closet, basement, alcove, and attic applications where airflow direction dictates unit orientation. At high fire, the blower delivers 2,130 cubic feet per minute; at low fire, 1,495 cubic feet per minute, using a variable-speed ECM motor rated at 1 metric hp and 1,200 RPM. The unit accommodates up to 5 tons of nominal cooling capacity (60,000 BTU/h), making it compatible with matched split-system cooling coils in that tonnage range. Communication-capable controls allow integration with compatible thermostats and control systems that support communicating protocols.
Designed for upflow and horizontal residential and light-commercial gas furnace installations with a nominal cooling capacity of up to 5 tons (60,000 BTU/h). Compatible with matched cooling coils and air handlers designed for communicating or conventional thermostat control. Consult the equipment specification sheet for approved coil pairings and accessory compatibility.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes, NFPA 54, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or replacing the unit. Vent diameter options of 2 inches or 3 inches must be verified against the venting design and local code requirements prior to installation. Minimum clearance to combustible materials is 0.1 feet as specified; verify all clearances before final placement.
