The GOODMAN arvt960804cn is a 96 AFUE two-stage gas furnace with a variable speed ECM blower motor, designed for upflow and horizontal installations in residential and light-commercial forced-air heating systems. Operating at 80,000 BTU/h on high fire and stepping down to 56,000 BTU/h on low fire, it delivers responsive, efficient comfort across a wide range of heating loads. The ECM motor runs at up to 1,200 RPM and moves up to 1,760 ft cubed per minute of conditioned air. A Non-NOx burner design and ANSI-certified heat exchanger make this unit suitable for installations in air-quality-regulated regions. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and startup.
The arvt960804cn fits upflow and horizontal duct configurations, making it adaptable to closet, utility-room, or attic installs. The unit supports up to 4 tons of matched cooling capacity, integrates with communicating system controls, and uses a two-stage gas valve for quieter low-fire operation during mild weather. Four burners share a gas heat exchanger sized for consistent temperature rise. Temperature rise range is 25-55 degrees F on high fire and 20-50 degrees F on low fire. Single-phase, 115-volt, 60 Hz power is required, with a minimum circuit ampacity of 10.8 amps and a maximum overcurrent protection of 15 amps.
Designed for upflow and horizontal forced-air system installations with a nominal cooling match of up to 48,000 BTU/h (4 tons). Compatible with communicating system controls. Specific matched-component compatibility should be confirmed against the manufacturer current product bulletin before ordering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the manufacturer instructions, local mechanical codes, and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service or replacement work. Vent connections accept 2-inch or 3-inch diameter pipe; verify venting configuration against local code and the furnace installation manual before cutting or connecting vent runs. Minimum clearance to combustible materials must be maintained as specified on the unit rating label and in the installation documentation.
