The Goodman ar9t961004cn is a 96 AFUE two-stage, multi-speed upflow and horizontal gas furnace rated at 100,000 BTU/h high-fire input. It uses an ECM blower motor and a two-stage gas valve to modulate between a 70,000 BTU/h low-fire stage and the full 100,000 BTU/h high-fire stage, delivering 97,000 BTU/h and 67,900 BTU/h at output respectively. This unit is designed for ducted indoor installations and carries ENERGY STAR certification along with ANSI certification. Licensed HVAC technicians install this furnace in residential and light commercial applications where high-efficiency gas heat is required in an upflow or horizontal configuration.
This furnace is built for upflow and horizontal ducted installations and is sized for 4-ton system configurations with a nominal cooling coil capacity of 48,000 BTU/h. The multi-speed ECM blower supports a high heating airflow of 1,699 cubic feet per minute and a low heating airflow of 1,369 cubic feet per minute, allowing it to match a range of duct systems. Its Non-NOx burner design meets low-emission requirements common in air quality regulated markets. The AR9T96 series is manufactured in the United States.
Designed as an OEM upflow and horizontal gas furnace in the AR9T96 series, sized for 4-ton ducted systems with a compatible cooling coil capacity of 48,000 BTU/h nominal.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service or installation work. The unit operates on 115 volts single-phase AC at 60 Hz and requires a minimum circuit ampacity of 14.3 amps with a maximum overcurrent protection of 25 amps. Verify duct sizing against the published airflow data and confirm the temperature rise range of 35 to 65 degrees F is achievable at both fire stages before completing startup.
