The GOODMAN ar9t801005cn is an 80 AFUE, two-stage, upflow/horizontal gas furnace rated at 100,000 BTU/h high-fire input and 80,000 BTU/h high-fire output. It uses a multi-speed ECM blower motor capable of moving up to 2,152.5 cubic feet per minute at high-fire heating mode. The two-stage gas valve allows the unit to operate at a reduced 70,000 BTU/h low-fire input for quieter, more efficient part-load heating, stepping up to full capacity only when demand requires. This unit is designed for ducted, indoor installations in upflow or horizontal configurations. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning.
The ar9t801005cn is sized for residential and light commercial ducted forced-air heating applications requiring up to 5-ton nominal cooling coil compatibility. The upflow/horizontal configuration suits installations in utility closets, basements, crawl spaces, and attic applications where the unit is laid on its side. It runs on single-phase, 115-volt, 60 Hz AC power and carries Non-NOx burner designation. The temperature rise range at high fire is 25 to 55 degrees F, making it suitable for a range of duct system designs.
Designed as an OEM-style upflow/horizontal gas furnace for ducted residential and light commercial forced-air heating systems requiring an 80 AFUE, two-stage unit with a nominal 5-ton cooling coil capacity and 21-inch cabinet width.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service or connection work. The unit requires a dedicated circuit sized to the 15.32-amp minimum circuit ampacity with a maximum 20-amp overcurrent protection device. Proper venting must be installed per applicable fuel-gas codes such as the IFGC or local equivalents before placing the unit in service.
