Designed for ducted upflow and horizontal installations, it operates on a single-phase 115-volt AC power supply and delivers up to 1,583 cubic feet per minute of airflow at high speed. The furnace features a gas heat exchanger and a low-NOx burner assembly, making it suitable for regions with air quality regulations. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in residential and light-commercial applications where an 80-percent efficient, high-capacity heating system is required.
This furnace is configured for upflow or horizontal duct connections, fitting standard ducted forced-air systems in residential new-construction and replacement scenarios. With a 5-ton nominal cooling coil capacity of 60,000 BTU/h, it pairs with a matched cooling coil to form a complete split system. The unit width of 24.5 inches fits common utility closet and alcove openings. It is classified as an indoor unit and is intended for ducted distribution systems only. HVAC contractors handling high-capacity residential or light-commercial heating loads are the primary installers of this equipment.
Designed as an OEM upflow and horizontal gas furnace for ducted forced-air systems with a nominal 5-ton cooling coil capacity. Specific matched-coil and air-handler compatibility should be confirmed against current Goodman and Amana product crossover documentation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), local mechanical codes, and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Disconnect all electrical power and shut off the gas supply before servicing or connecting the unit. The furnace requires a dedicated circuit sized to a minimum of 15.3 amps with a maximum overcurrent protection of 20 amps at 115 volts. Vent connections, gas line sizing, and combustion air provisions must comply with applicable local codes before startup.
