The GOODMAN amvc960804cn is a 96 AFUE, two-stage, variable-speed gas furnace designed for upflow and horizontal ducted installations in residential and light-commercial applications. It delivers 80,000 BTU/h at high-fire input with an ECM blower motor rated at up to 1,760 cubic feet per minute airflow, making it well-suited for systems requiring precise airflow management. The unit operates on 115 volts, single-phase, 60 Hz power and is ENERGY STAR certified. It is installed by licensed HVAC contractors and integrates with ComfortBridge Technology for communicating system setups.
This furnace is built for upflow or horizontal installation in ducted forced-air systems. It supports cooling coil configurations from 1.5 to 4 tons, covering a wide range of residential zoning requirements. The two-stage gas valve reduces short-cycling and improves comfort by modulating between low-fire (56,000 BTU/h input) and high-fire operation. With a non-NOx burner design, it is suited for installations in regions with low-NOx combustion requirements. The unit ships from United States manufacturing and carries AHRI reference number 7368873.
Compatible accessory and component references include: 0170K00000S, 0170K00001S, AFE18-60A, CTK04, CVENT-2, CVENT-3, EFR02, HASFK-2, LPLP03, LPM-08, and RF000142. Supports cooling coil tonnage from 1.5 to 4 tons in ducted upflow or horizontal configurations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing or installing the unit. Maintain required clearances to combustible materials as specified in the installation manual. Vent connections must be made using approved flue pipe sized for the selected 2-inch or 3-inch vent diameter and routed per local gas and mechanical code requirements.
