The GOODMAN alxs5ba6010 is a 5-ton, single-stage outdoor condensing unit rated at 15.2 SEER2 for cooling-only operation. It runs on R-32 refrigerant and uses a scroll compressor powered by a 208/230-volt, single-phase, 60 Hz supply. Manufactured in the United States, this unit discharges air from the top and is designed for non-communicating system configurations. The minimum circuit ampacity is 36.4 amps with a maximum overcurrent protection rating of 60 amps. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as the outdoor portion of a split-system air conditioner serving residential or light commercial applications.
This unit is suited for residential and multi-family cooling installations where a high-efficiency, single-stage outdoor condensing unit is required. The ALXS5B series carries DOE regional compliance for all U.S. regions, making it eligible for installation across the country without regional efficiency restrictions. Rated cooling conditions are based on a 95 degrees F ambient dry-bulb temperature, with a standard operating range of 55 degrees F to 115 degrees F ambient. The factory refrigerant charge is 167 oz of R-32, pre-charged for a 15-foot line set, with a maximum standard line set length of 79 feet and a maximum vertical run of 50 feet.
Designed as an OEM outdoor condensing unit within the Amana ALXS5B series split air conditioner product line. Compatible components referenced in product data include 0130R00000S, ABK-20, ASC01A, CSR-U-1, FSK01A, and LSK02A. Consult the equipment documentation to confirm matched indoor coil and air handler selections before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling R-32 refrigerant. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system before making any wiring or refrigerant connections. Liquid line connection uses a 3/8-inch O.D. valve and the suction line uses a 7/8-inch O.D. valve; verify line set sizing against the maximum 79-foot run specification before brazing. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes and manufacturer installation instructions for pad placement, electrical rough-in, and refrigerant line set evacuation procedures.
