The GOODMAN alxs5ba4210 is a 3.5-ton, single-stage outdoor split air conditioner rated at 15.2 SEER2, designed for residential and light commercial cooling applications. It operates on R-32 refrigerant and runs on a 208/230-volt, single-phase, 60 Hz power supply. The unit uses a scroll compressor with single-speed motor operation and a top-discharge cabinet configuration. Manufactured in the United States, it meets DOE regional compliance requirements for all regions. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning of this type of condensing unit.
This outdoor condensing unit is intended for use in split-system cooling-only installations. It is suited for residential new construction and replacement projects where a non-communicating, single-stage outdoor unit is required. The ALXS5B series is factory pre-charged with R-32 refrigerant to cover a standard 15-foot line set. Operating ambient cooling range spans 55 degrees F to 115 degrees F, making it appropriate for a wide range of climates across all DOE compliance regions.
Designed for use in non-communicating split-system cooling-only configurations. Compatible component references listed in product data include: 0130R00000S, 0161R00128, ABK-20, ASC01A, CSR-U-1, FSK01A, LAKT01, and LSK02A. Consult the equipment submittal and matching coil selection guide to confirm compatible indoor coil and air handler pairings.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding EPA Section 608 certification due to the refrigerant handling requirements of R-32, a mildly flammable A2L refrigerant. Disconnect and lock out all power at the unit disconnect before making any electrical or refrigerant connections. Minimum circuit ampacity is 19.3 amps with a maximum overcurrent protection of 30 amps; verify wiring and breaker sizing against NEC requirements before energizing. Do not exceed the maximum line set length of 79 feet horizontal or 50 feet vertical without consulting the manufacturer line set extension guidelines.
