The GOODMAN advt960804cn is a 96 AFUE, two-stage, variable-speed ECM gas furnace designed for downflow and horizontal installations. Rated at 80,000 BTU/h high-fire input with a corresponding output of 76,880 BTU/h, it delivers efficient heat while minimizing fuel waste. The ECM blower motor operates at variable speeds up to 1,250 RPM, allowing precise airflow control across both heating stages. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in residential and light-commercial applications where energy efficiency and quiet, modulating operation are required. The Non-NOx burner configuration meets low-emissions requirements in applicable jurisdictions.
This furnace is configured for downflow and horizontal installations, making it suitable for closet, alcove, or crawlspace applications where upflow units will not fit. With a nominal cooling capacity pairing of 48,000 BTU/h (4 tons) and a high-fire airflow of 1,760 cubic feet per minute, it is sized for larger residential systems or small commercial spaces. The two-stage gas valve reduces short cycling and improves comfort at low-fire capacity of 56,000 BTU/h input. Communication-capable controls allow integration with compatible thermostats and zoning systems.
Designed as an OEM downflow and horizontal gas furnace for residential and light-commercial forced-air heating systems with a 4-ton nominal cooling match and 115-volt, single-phase, 60 Hz electrical service.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), local mechanical codes, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or connecting the unit. Vent diameter connections of 2 inches or 3 inches must be confirmed against the specific vent run length and configuration per the installation manual. Minimum clearances to combustible materials must be maintained as specified; this unit requires a dedicated 15-amp overcurrent protection circuit with a minimum circuit ampacity of 10.8 amps.
