The GOODMAN advt960603bn is a 96 AFUE two-stage, variable-speed ECM gas furnace designed for downflow and horizontal installations. Rated at 60,000 BTU/h high-fire input with 58,200 BTU/h output, it delivers efficient, staged heating across residential and light-commercial applications. The 1/2 hp ECM blower motor operates at variable speeds up to 1,250 RPM, providing precise airflow control at 1,400 ft3/min on high heat and 1,070 ft3/min on low heat. The non-NOx burner configuration and 96 percent AFUE rating reduce fuel consumption and emissions. A licensed HVAC technician handles installation and startup.
This furnace is configured for downflow or horizontal duct arrangements, making it suitable for closet, basement, crawlspace, or attic installations where a standard upflow orientation is not feasible. The unit supports up to 3 tons of nominal cooling capacity at 36,000 BTU/h when paired with a compatible cooling coil, making it a practical choice for combined heating and cooling systems. The two-stage gas valve reduces short cycling and improves temperature consistency. Communication-ready design supports compatible system controls.
Designed as an OEM downflow and horizontal gas furnace for residential and light-commercial forced-air systems. Compatible with cooling coils rated up to 3 tons nominal cooling capacity. Refer to manufacturer documentation for approved coil and thermostat pairings.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes, the IFGC, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any service or installation work. Vent sizing must follow the manufacturer guidelines using the 2-inch or 3-inch vent diameter options provided. Do not operate the unit without verifying proper gas pressure, flue venting, and filter installation prior to startup.
