The GOODMAN ad9t961005cn is a 96 AFUE, two-stage, downflow/horizontal gas furnace designed for ducted residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. It delivers 100,000 BTU/h input capacity at high fire with a rated output of 96,000 BTU/h, and steps down to 70,000 BTU/h input at low fire for efficient part-load operation. The unit runs on a multi-speed ECM blower motor rated at 1 hp, drawing a minimum of 14.3 amps on a 115-volt, single-phase, 60 Hz circuit with a maximum overcurrent protection of 25 amps. This furnace is ENERGY STAR certified and ANSI certified, making it appropriate for installations where energy-code compliance is required. A licensed HVAC technician handles installation and startup.
The ad9t961005cn is configured for downflow or horizontal installation in ducted forced-air systems. At 21 inches wide, it fits standard downflow platform or closet applications sized for 5-ton cooling capacity. The unit is suited for residential new construction and replacement projects where a high-efficiency, non-NOx, two-stage gas furnace is specified. High-fire airflow reaches 1,736 cubic feet per minute; low-fire airflow is rated at 1,248 cubic feet per minute. Temperature rise range is 35 to 65 degrees F at high fire and 30 to 60 degrees F at low fire.
Designed as an OEM downflow/horizontal gas furnace in the AD9T96 series, rated for up to 5-ton cooling coil applications in ducted forced-air systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54/ANSI Z223.1), local mechanical codes, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or connecting any components. Verify vent material, vent sizing, and combustion air provisions meet code requirements for a 96 AFUE two-stage furnace before startup. Do not operate the unit without verifying proper static pressure, gas supply pressure, and temperature rise are within the published ranges.
