The Goodman ad9s961005cn is a 96 AFUE single-stage, multi-speed ECM gas furnace rated at 100,000 BTU/h high-fire input and 95,000 BTU/h output. Configured for downflow and horizontal installation, it is designed for ducted residential and light-commercial applications where high-efficiency heating and flexible airflow are required. Operating on 115 volts AC at 60 Hz, single phase, the unit delivers up to 1,720 CFM at high-speed heating and carries ANSI certification. Licensed HVAC technicians perform installation and startup on this class of equipment.
This furnace is suited for downflow or horizontal ducted systems in applications requiring up to 5-ton cooling coil compatibility. The 21-inch cabinet width fits standard platform or closet installations. The non-NOx burner configuration makes it appropriate for markets with low-NOx combustion requirements. The multi-speed ECM blower motor supports variable airflow staging across heating, cooling, and continuous-fan modes, which benefits both comfort and duct static management in larger residential systems.
Designed for ducted downflow and horizontal installations; compatible with up to 5-ton nominal cooling coil configurations. Verify cabinet width clearance and duct transitions for 21-inch platform applications before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes, the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54 / ANSI Z223.1), and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power at the service disconnect before any service work. Minimum circuit ampacity is 16.7 A with maximum overcurrent protection of 25 A — verify wiring and breaker sizing against the unit nameplate and local electrical code. Do not exceed the rated 25 A overcurrent protection device.
