The GOODMAN ad9s960804cn is a 96 AFUE single-stage, multi-speed ECM gas furnace configured for downflow and horizontal installation. Rated at 80,000 BTU/h high-fire input with a high-fire output of 76,880 BTU/h, it delivers 96 percent thermal efficiency in a ducted indoor application. The unit operates on 115 volts, 1-phase, 60 Hz AC power and moves up to 1,385 cubic feet per minute of heated air at high fire. At 141 pounds and 21 inches wide, it fits standard residential utility closet and alcove installations. Licensed HVAC contractors install and commission this furnace as part of a complete ducted forced-air heating system.
This furnace is designed for downflow and horizontal ducted installations in residential and multi-family applications where high efficiency and multi-speed ECM blower operation are required. The 4-ton nominal cooling capacity pairing makes it a practical match for split-system cooling configurations where the furnace serves as the air handler. The Non-NOx burner design meets low-emissions requirements in markets where NOx output limits apply. The temperature rise range at high fire is 40 to 70 degrees F, which guides duct system sizing and static pressure balancing during commissioning.
Designed for ducted downflow and horizontal forced-air heating applications with a nominal cooling pairing of 4 tons (48,000 BTU/h). Compatible with standard 21-inch-wide duct cabinet and coil configurations. Verify static pressure, gas supply, and electrical rough-in against local mechanical code requirements before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC contractor in accordance with the current edition of the IFGC, NFPA 54, and applicable local codes. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service work. The unit requires a dedicated 115-volt, 20-amp maximum overcurrent protection circuit with a minimum circuit ampacity of 13.7 amps. Do not exceed the temperature rise range of 40 to 70 degrees F at high fire; verify actual rise after startup and adjust airflow as needed to remain within range.
