The Goodman ad9s800804bx is an 80 AFUE single-stage, multi-speed ECM gas furnace rated at 80,000 BTU/h input capacity with a high-fire output of 64,000 BTU/h. Built for downflow and horizontal installation configurations, it operates on a single-phase, 115-volt AC supply at 60 Hz and delivers up to 1,238 cubic feet per minute of airflow at high-fire heating mode. The unit is ANSI certified and features a low-NOx burner design. Licensed HVAC technicians install this furnace as part of a ducted residential or light-commercial forced-air system. The 10-inch by 8-inch blower assembly and a temperature rise range of 35 to 65 degrees F allow it to be matched to a wide range of duct systems.
The ad9s800804bx is designed for downflow and horizontal ducted applications with a nominal cooling capacity pairing of 48,000 BTU/h (4 tons), making it well suited for split-system installations where a matching cooling coil is installed in the downflow discharge position. Its multi-speed ECM blower supports variable airflow staging, which helps optimize static pressure performance across a range of duct configurations. The unit measures 17.5 inches wide, 28 inches deep, and 33.375 inches tall, fitting standard furnace closets and utility spaces sized for that cabinet width. This model is intended for indoor ducted installations only.
Designed for ducted downflow and horizontal forced-air systems with a 4-ton nominal cooling capacity. Consult system design documentation to confirm coil, filter cabinet, and flue venting compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any service or installation work. Verify that flue venting, gas line sizing, and electrical supply meet the unit's minimum circuit ampacity of 12.45 amps and maximum overcurrent protection of 15 amps. Do not exceed the rated temperature rise range of 35 to 65 degrees F during startup commissioning.
