The GLASFLOSS ZLP16251 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter designed for residential and commercial HVAC applications where reliable particulate capture and low pressure drop are required. Sized at 16 inches x 25 inches x 1 inch, it uses 100% synthetic fiber extended-surface media arranged in a tapered radial pleat configuration at 14 pleats per lineal foot, delivering 4.9 square feet of effective media area. Initial resistance is 0.21 inches WC and final resistance is 1 inch WC at a rated face velocity of 300 FPM. A galvanized expanded metal backing laminated to the air-exit side holds pleat geometry stable throughout the service life. Licensed HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors are the typical installers.
The ZLP16251 is suited for forced-air systems in residential, light commercial, and geothermal unit applications. Its synthetic media and moisture-resistant frame construction make it appropriate for environments with moderate humidity exposure. The filter meets ANSI/ASHRAE 52.2 efficiency standards and carries UL 900 listing, making it acceptable on projects requiring compliance with USGBC LEED, HARDI, or NAFA guidelines. It is manufactured in the USA and is rated for continuous operation up to 180 degrees F.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 16 x 25 x 1 inch filter slots in forced-air HVAC systems, including geothermal units, residential air handlers, and light commercial fan-coil applications where a MERV 10 pleated filter is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified mechanical contractor. Always shut down the air handling unit and set the thermostat to the off position before removing the existing filter. Confirm airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with system airflow toward the blower. Verify filter slot dimensions match 16 x 25 x 1 inch before installation to ensure a proper seal and prevent bypass.
