The GLASFLOSS ZLP16241 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter designed for forced-air HVAC systems where mid-range particulate capture and low pressure drop are both required. Sized at 16 inches x 24 inches x 1 inch, the filter uses 100% synthetic fiber extended-surface media pleated in a tapered radial configuration at 14 pleats per lineal foot, producing 4.7 square feet of effective media area. Initial resistance is 0.21 inches WC and final resistance is 1 inch WC at a rated face velocity of 300 FPM. A galvanized expanded metal backing is laminated to the air-exit side using a thermosetting adhesive to hold pleat geometry under load. The one-piece die-cut frame uses heavy-duty moisture-resistant beverage board incorporating post-consumer material. Licensed HVAC technicians and facilities maintenance personnel handle routine installation.
The ZLP16241 is suited for residential and light commercial air-handling systems, including geothermal units, where a 16 x 24 x 1 nominal filter slot is present. Its synthetic media construction and moisture-resistant frame make it appropriate for environments with elevated humidity or condensation risk near the return plenum. The MERV 10 rating captures mid-range particulates including dust, pollen, mold spores, and fine lint, making it a practical choice for occupied spaces with standard air-quality requirements. Energy Star rated and manufactured in the USA, the filter also satisfies documentation needs for LEED and USGBC projects.
Designed for geothermal units and standard forced-air HVAC systems accepting a 16 x 24 x 1 nominal pleated filter. Meets applicable standards including UL 900, ANSI/ASHRAE 52.2, USGBC, LEED, HARDI, and NAFA, supporting use in projects requiring certified filtration documentation.
HVAC technicians and qualified maintenance personnel install this filter. Power down or switch the air-handling unit to the off position before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air bypass and motor debris ingestion. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the system airflow direction before seating the filter. Replace when final resistance of 1 inch WC is reached or per the authority-having-jurisdiction maintenance schedule.
