The GIBRALTAR Z9208SS is an extra thick flat washer sized for 1-inch screws, manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel with a plain finish. It provides a broad, rigid bearing surface that distributes clamp load across a wider area than standard flat washers, reducing fastener pull-through in softer substrates and protecting surface finishes. The 18-8 stainless steel grade delivers solid corrosion resistance in wet, outdoor, and marine-adjacent environments. With an outside diameter of 2 inches and a thickness of 0.2813 inches, this washer is well suited to applications where standard-thickness washers are inadequate. Licensed trade installers and experienced DIYers working in plumbing, mechanical, and structural fastening will find this washer appropriate for demanding service conditions.
The Z9208SS is used in residential and light commercial construction, plumbing rough-in, HVAC equipment mounting, pool and spa installations, and general mechanical assembly wherever a 1-inch screw or bolt requires a wide load-bearing surface. The extra thick profile resists deformation under torque, making it a reliable choice in high-vibration environments or where repeated assembly and disassembly cycles are expected. It is sold individually and is suitable for single-fastener applications as well as bulk service work.
Designed for use with 1-inch screws and bolts in inch-measurement fastening systems. Suitable for stainless steel fastener assemblies where an extra thick flat washer is specified.
This washer is installed by mechanical and plumbing tradespeople as well as general contractors following applicable construction and mechanical codes. Power down or de-energize any equipment before accessing fastener assemblies in electrical or HVAC panels. Ensure mating fastener threads and bearing surfaces are clean and free of debris before assembly. Do not use impact tools at final torque when pairing with stainless steel fasteners, as galling of the stainless contact surfaces can occur.
