The GIBRALTAR SWN10-6BLCZ-PTG is a threaded ball plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty detenting applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. It features a 3/8-16 threaded body machined from steel with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance. The nylon ball measures 0.188 inches in diameter with a maximum reach of 0.048 inches. A built-in locking element secures the plunger in place once set. Initial end force is 2.5 pounds, with a final end force of 5 pounds. This unit is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers working with fixtures, jigs, tooling, and precision equipment.
This ball plunger is suited for use in light-load positioning applications where repeatable detent action is required. Typical install scenarios include fixture plates, sliding assemblies, rotary indexing components, and machine tooling. The nylon ball minimizes surface marring on mating parts, making it appropriate for applications where contact-surface protection is a priority. The zinc-plated steel body provides durability in general industrial environments.
Designed as a standard 3/8-16 threaded ball plunger for use in tapped holes in fixture plates, jigs, tooling bodies, and mechanical assemblies requiring light-load indexing or positioning.
Installation requires a tapped 3/8-16 hole in the mating component. Disengage or de-energize any associated equipment before installation or removal. Use an appropriate hex key or wrench on the body flats to thread the plunger in; do not overtighten, as this can damage the locking element or distort the ball seat. Confirm ball travel and detent force are within acceptable range for the application before returning the assembly to service.
