The GIBRALTAR SWN10-3S-G is a stubby threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light detent applications in mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a 10-32 thread size with a thread length of 0.468 inches and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.093 inches. Plunger projection measures 0.065 inches. The steel body and steel nose construction make this a durable, compact fastener hardware component suitable for installation by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers working with precision equipment and fixtures.
This spring plunger is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and light-duty positioning mechanisms where repeatable detent action is required. Its stubby body profile makes it a practical choice in space-constrained assemblies. With an initial end force of 1.7 pounds and a final end force of 6.2 pounds, it provides a defined resistance range appropriate for low-load indexing and retention tasks across a wide range of mechanical and industrial applications.
Designed as a standard 10-32 threaded spring plunger for use in any tapped hole accepting a 10-32 thread, including jigs, fixtures, tooling, and general mechanical assemblies requiring light detent or indexing function.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a pre-tapped 10-32 hole using an appropriate hex key or driver. Ensure the mating hole is clean and tapped to the correct depth before installation. No locking element is included, so thread-locking compound may be applied at the installer's discretion to prevent backing out under vibration. Torque to manufacturer or assembly specifications only.
