The GIBRALTAR SWN10-1AFSP-G is a short-style threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty detent applications in mechanical assemblies. The body is steel construction with a Delrin nose, offering corrosion resistance at the contact point and durability at the threaded shank. It features a 6-32 thread with a 3/8-inch thread length, a maximum plunger diameter of 0.046 inches, and a 1/16-inch projection. Initial end force is 0.5 pounds and final end force is 1.5 pounds. A built-in locking element prevents the plunger from backing out under vibration. This component is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians in industrial and mechanical settings.
This spring plunger is suited for light-force positioning tasks in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and precision mechanical assemblies. The short plunger length type makes it appropriate for shallow-clearance installations where a standard-projection plunger would not fit. The Delrin nose minimizes marring on sensitive contact surfaces. Typical applications include panel detents, slide stops, and component indexing in both production and repair environments.
Designed as a standard 6-32 threaded spring plunger for use in tapped holes in jigs, fixtures, tooling, and mechanical assemblies requiring light-force indexing or detent functions.
Installation requires a properly tapped 6-32 threaded hole in the mating component. Engage the locking element after positioning to secure the plunger against loosening from vibration. Use the appropriate hex key or driver for the plunger head style and avoid over-torquing, which can damage the thread or compress the internal spring beyond its design range. De-energize or lock out any powered equipment before servicing assemblies containing spring plungers.
