The GIBRALTAR SW10-6FS-G is a short-body threaded spring plunger designed to provide controlled, spring-loaded positioning and indexing force in mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a 3/8-16 thread size with an 11/16 inch thread length, a maximum plunger diameter of 0.186 inches, and a 3/16 inch nose projection. Initial end force is 1 pound, rising to a final end force of 12 pounds under full compression. The steel body and steel nose deliver durability in demanding industrial and mechanical applications. This part is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assembly professionals.
The SW10-6FS-G is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and general mechanical assemblies where repeatable spring-loaded detent or positioning action is required. The 3/8-16 thread allows installation into standard tapped holes in steel, aluminum, or similar substrates. The short plunger length type makes it a practical choice when vertical clearance is limited or a low-profile installation is needed. No locking element is included in this configuration.
Designed for installation into standard 3/8-16 tapped holes in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and general mechanical assemblies requiring spring-loaded plunger action.
Installation requires a properly tapped 3/8-16 threaded hole in the mating component. Power down or de-energize any associated equipment before servicing assemblies that include spring plungers. Use a hex key or spanner wrench appropriate to the plunger head style to seat the plunger to the desired depth. Do not overtighten, as this can compress the internal spring beyond its rated travel and reduce performance.
