The GIBRALTAR SW10-14-PT-G is a threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty locking applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. It features a steel body and steel nose with a 1/8 thread size and a 2-13/32 inch thread length. The plunger projects 1/2 inch (0.500 inches decimal) at full extension and delivers an initial end force of 16 pounds, ramping up to a final end force of 68 pounds. A built-in locking element secures the plunger in position once threaded into place. This part is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers working with jigs, fixtures, and machine components.
This spring plunger is suited for use in threaded mounting holes in metal fixtures, machine bases, tooling plates, and similar assemblies requiring repeatable detent or positioning action. The 1/8 thread size and standard plunger length make it appropriate for compact installations where space is limited. It is a direct-thread installation requiring no special housing — only a properly tapped hole matching the thread specification.
Designed as a standard threaded spring plunger for use in any machined or tapped hole with a matching 1/8 thread specification in fixtures, jigs, tooling plates, and general mechanical assemblies.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a properly tapped hole sized for the 1/8 thread. Ensure the receiving hole is clean and free of debris before threading in the plunger. Use appropriate thread engagement practices and avoid overtightening, which can damage the locking element or distort the body. Disengage or de-energize any associated machinery before servicing or replacing spring plungers in active assemblies.
