The GIBRALTAR STPR25-PT-G is a steel locking pull ring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and retention applications in mechanical assemblies. It features a 1/4-20 thread size with a 0.8-inch thread length and a spring-loaded plunger that delivers 1 pound of initial end force rising to 2.5 pounds of final end force. The plunger diameter is 0.155 inches with a 0.25-inch projection, and the locking pull ring allows the plunger to be retracted and held in the disengaged position for hands-free operation. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and equipment fabricators install these plungers into threaded bores on panels, fixtures, and machinery frames.
This plunger is suited for light-duty industrial and mechanical applications where a compact, threaded retention device is needed. Typical uses include locking slides, positioning stops, detent mechanisms, and adjustable fixture components. The locking ring feature makes it practical in applications where the plunger must stay retracted during part loading or adjustment before snapping back into engagement. The steel construction holds up in shop environments exposed to moderate wear and mechanical contact.
Designed as a direct-threaded replacement or new-installation locking pull ring plunger for mechanical assemblies using a 1/4-20 threaded bore requiring a spring-loaded retention plunger with locking capability.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard hand tools to thread the plunger body into a tapped 1/4-20 bore. De-energize or lock out any powered equipment before installing or replacing plungers in active machinery. Do not overtighten the plunger body, as this can distort the thread and affect spring travel. Verify plunger projection and end force are appropriate for the detent or indexing load before placing the assembly into service.
