The GIBRALTAR SSW10-4YA-PT-G is a threaded spring plunger designed for precision positioning, indexing, and light-duty locking applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a 1/4-28 thread with a 1-inch thread length and a stainless steel body and nose for corrosion resistance. A built-in locking element secures the plunger in place once threaded into position, preventing loosening from vibration. Initial end force is 1 pound and final end force is 4 pounds, giving installers a predictable spring load range for repeatable positioning. This part is typically installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers working with fixtures, jigs, and precision equipment.
The SSW10-4YA-PT-G suits applications requiring controlled spring force in a compact threaded envelope. With a maximum plunger diameter of 0.118 inches and a 3/16-inch projection, it fits into tight mounting geometries common in tooling plates, fixture bodies, and machine frames. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments where mild corrosion resistance is required, such as washdown-adjacent areas or outdoor equipment enclosures. It is sold individually and is packaged as a single unit per order.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for threaded spring plunger applications using a 1/4-28 tapped hole with a 1-inch thread engagement depth.
Installation requires a properly tapped 1/4-28 through or blind hole in the mating component. De-energize or power down any equipment before servicing assemblies that contain spring plungers under load. Use an appropriately sized hex key or screwdriver slot if provided on the plunger body to thread it to the correct engagement depth. Do not exceed the rated final end force by over-compressing the plunger, as this can damage the internal spring.
