The GIBRALTAR SSW10-1P-G is a threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty locking applications in mechanical assemblies. The body is constructed from stainless steel, making it suitable for corrosion-resistant installations. The plunger features a 6-32 thread size with a 17/32-inch thread length and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.045 inches. It delivers 1.5 pounds of initial end force and 4.5 pounds of final end force. A locking element is integrated into the design to prevent the plunger from backing out under vibration. This part is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers working on precision fixtures and tooling.
The SSW10-1P-G is suited for use in threaded bores within jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and light mechanical equipment where repeatable spring-loaded positioning or detent action is required. The compact 1/16-inch projection and standard plunger length type make it appropriate for space-constrained assemblies. It is sold individually and is typically used in small-quantity precision builds or as a direct replacement in existing threaded mounting points.
Designed as a standard-thread spring plunger replacement or new installation for threaded bores sized to 6-32, compatible with jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and similar mechanical assemblies requiring spring-loaded positioning or detent retention.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard hand tools sized for 6-32 threaded hardware. Ensure the receiving bore is clean and properly tapped to 6-32 before installation. De-energize or fully lock out any equipment before servicing assemblies that contain spring plungers under load. Do not overtighten — the locking element is designed to secure the plunger at the specified seating torque appropriate for the thread class.
