The GIBRALTAR SSW10-10SL-PT-G is a stubby threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and locating applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. It features a 5/8-11 thread size with a 1.062-inch thread length and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.31 inches. The plunger projection measures 0.215 inches. Both the body and nose are constructed from stainless steel, making the unit suitable for environments where corrosion resistance is a requirement. A locking element is built in to secure the plunger in position once installed, preventing loosening from vibration or repeated cycling. Installation is performed by maintenance technicians, toolmakers, and machine builders working with fixtures, jigs, or precision assemblies.
This spring plunger is appropriate for use in light-duty to medium-duty positioning applications across manufacturing, tooling, and fixture-building environments. Installation requires a properly tapped 5/8-11 hole in the receiving workpiece. Use an appropriate hex key or spanner tool to thread the plunger in to the specified engagement depth without over-torquing the stainless steel body. Ensure the assembly is depressurized or de-energized before servicing any fixture or mechanism containing this plunger. The locking element should be engaged after final positioning is confirmed to prevent migration during operation.
