The GIBRALTAR SPR25A-G is a stainless steel pull ring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and retaining applications in mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a 1/4-20 thread size with a thread length of 0.31 inches and a non-locking design that allows smooth, repeatable engagement and release via the pull ring. Initial end force is 0.5 pounds, building to a final end force of 2 pounds, making it suited for light-duty holding and detent work. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion in washdown and outdoor environments. Machinists, millwrights, and assembly technicians install this type of component during equipment setup and fixture fabrication.
This pull ring plunger is used in jigs, fixtures, machine guards, panels, and positioning mechanisms where manual retraction of the plunger is required without tools. The non-locking plunger type allows the operator to pull the ring to retract the plunger and release it to engage, making it well suited for repetitive-cycle production equipment and adjustment mechanisms. It is appropriate for both light industrial and commercial assembly applications where stainless steel is specified for hygiene or corrosion resistance.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 threaded pull ring plunger for use in any fixture, jig, or mechanical assembly requiring a non-locking stainless steel spring plunger with pull ring retraction.
Installation requires a tapped 1/4-20 hole in the mating component. Thread the plunger body in by hand or with a 0.25 inch hex wrench until seated to the desired depth; do not overtighten, as the spring mechanism can be damaged by excessive torque. Confirm plunger projection and ring clearance before final installation. Power down or de-energize any adjacent electrically active equipment before working on assemblies that incorporate this component.
