The GIBRALTAR SPR25-G is a stainless steel pull ring plunger with a 1/4-20 thread and a non-locking design. It is used to index, position, or hold components in light-duty mechanical assemblies. The plunger body measures 0.44 inches in length with a 0.31-inch thread length and a 0.16-inch plunger diameter. End force ranges from 0.5 pounds initial to 2 pounds final, making it suited for low-force retention applications. The pull ring allows manual plunger retraction without tools, which speeds up indexing operations on fixtures, panels, and equipment enclosures. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians typically install and service this hardware.
This pull ring plunger is used in light industrial and mechanical assembly applications where a component must be held in position and manually released as needed. Typical install locations include tooling fixtures, machine guards, equipment panels, and positioning jigs. The non-locking body style allows the plunger to retract freely when the ring is pulled and return to the extended position when released. The 1/4-20 thread makes it compatible with standard tapped holes in steel, aluminum, and plastic assemblies. Single-piece packaging suits both field repair and bench assembly use.
Designed for use in standard 1/4-20 tapped holes in light industrial fixtures, mechanical assemblies, equipment panels, and positioning tooling where a non-locking spring plunger with manual pull ring actuation is required.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a pre-tapped 1/4-20 hole using a wrench on the hex head. De-energize or lock out any machine before servicing components in the assembly. A 0.25-inch hex wrench or open-end wrench is required for installation and torque adjustment. Do not overtighten, as excess torque can damage the plunger body or distort the thread engagement in softer base materials.
