The GIBRALTAR SP12347 is a fixed blank lifting eye bolt designed for rigging and lifting applications in industrial and construction environments. Built from C-1035 grade steel, this eye bolt features a 2.5 inch shank and a 1 inch inside eye diameter, making it suitable for attaching hooks, cables, wire rope, and chain rigging hardware. It is a without-shoulder (plain shank) design, meaning it is intended for use in tapped holes where the shank threads directly into a fixed base. Installation and rigging work is typically performed by millwrights, ironworkers, maintenance mechanics, and industrial contractors following applicable rigging and lifting standards.
This eye bolt is suited for straight vertical lifting loads in production facilities, warehouses, and heavy maintenance environments. The fixed blank style means the eye does not swivel, so it is rated for in-line axial loading only. Angled or side loading without a swivel-style or shouldered eye bolt risks reducing load capacity significantly. The without-shoulder configuration is appropriate where the base material is threaded to accept the shank directly, and the mounting surface provides the necessary bearing area.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit lifting hardware component for imperial-threaded tapped hole applications in industrial rigging and lifting setups.
Installation should be performed by qualified riggers or maintenance personnel familiar with applicable lifting hardware standards such as ASME B30.26. Thread the shank fully into the tapped hole so that the bearing surface seats flush against the mounting surface before applying any load. Because this is a fixed blank eye bolt without a shoulder, it must be loaded in-line with the shank axis only — never apply angular or side loads to a fixed eye bolt. Inspect threads and the eye for damage or deformation before each use and remove from service if any defects are found.
