The GIBRALTAR MSWN10-8FSL-PTG is a threaded spring plunger designed for positioning, indexing, and holding applications in industrial assemblies and machine components. It features an M12 x 1.75 thread with a 20.5 mm thread length (approximately 0.807 inches), a steel body, and a Delrin nose for smooth, low-friction contact with mating surfaces. The short plunger configuration provides a maximum plunger diameter of 6.3 mm (approximately 0.248 inches) and a projection of 6.5 mm (approximately 0.256 inches). A built-in locking element secures the plunger in the threaded bore after installation, preventing back-out due to vibration. Initial end force is 0.77 kg (approximately 1.7 pounds) and final end force is 3.86 kg (approximately 8.5 pounds).
This spring plunger is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and general mechanical assemblies where repeatable detent or positioning force is required. The steel body provides durability in production and maintenance environments. It is typically installed by machinists, toolmakers, maintenance technicians, or mechanical assemblers working on light-to-medium duty industrial equipment. The Delrin nose material makes it appropriate for use against softer mating surfaces where metal-to-metal contact is undesirable.
Designed as a direct-fit threaded spring plunger for M12 x 1.75 tapped holes in industrial jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and mechanical assemblies requiring a short-projection, locking-style plunger.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger into a properly tapped M12 x 1.75 hole using a hex key or spanner wrench appropriate for the body style. Disengage or de-energize any moving machine components before installation or removal. Tighten to snug engagement and use the locking element feature to secure the plunger against rotation — do not over-tighten, as this can damage the thread or compress the internal spring mechanism. Consult applicable machinery safety standards when integrating into automated or powered equipment.
