The GIBRALTAR MSSW10-8-PT-G is a threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty latch applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. The body and nose are both constructed from stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance in demanding service environments. The plunger threads in at M12 x 1.75 with a thread length of 1.102 inches and delivers an initial end force of 10.12 pounds and a final end force of 24.73 pounds. A locking element is incorporated into the body to prevent back-out under vibration. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals install these plungers in fixtures, jigs, and machine assemblies where repeatable spring-loaded positioning is required.
This spring plunger is suited for use in CNC fixtures, assembly jigs, tooling plates, and general industrial equipment where a compact, threaded indexing element is needed. The standard plunger projection of 0.157 inches and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.236 inches make it appropriate for applications with limited clearance. The M12 x 1.75 thread size fits standard metric tapped holes, making this plunger compatible with a wide range of machine tool and fixture designs across light manufacturing and precision assembly environments.
Designed as a standard metric threaded spring plunger for use in any fixture, jig, or mechanical assembly with a properly sized M12 x 1.75 tapped hole.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger into a pre-tapped M12 x 1.75 through-hole or blind hole using an appropriate hex key or spanner wrench. Ensure the mating tapped hole meets thread tolerance specifications before installation to avoid cross-threading. The locking element should be engaged per the manufacturer's recommended torque range for the fastener size to secure the plunger in position. Always de-energize or lock out any machine or fixture before servicing spring plunger components.
