The GIBRALTAR MKNL-4-PT-G is a knob handle spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and locking applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. This non-locking plunger features a knurled knob head and a steel body with a zinc gold chromate finish. It is threaded M12x1.75 with a body length of 1.14 inches and delivers a spring end force range of 1 pound initial to 10 pounds final. The maximum plunger diameter is 0.236 inches with a plunger projection of 0.236 inches. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics install this type of component in jigs, fixtures, machine tool tables, and similar equipment requiring repeatable positioning.
This spring plunger is suited for use in light-duty to moderate-duty fixturing applications where controlled spring force is needed to hold a workpiece or component in a repeatable indexed position. The knurled knob allows hand adjustment without tools, making it practical for setups that require frequent repositioning. The zinc gold chromate finish provides corrosion resistance for general shop and industrial environments. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both original equipment builds and maintenance replacement in existing fixture assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style or replacement spring plunger for industrial fixtures, jigs, machine tool tables, and mechanical assemblies using M12x1.75 threaded bores requiring a knob handle style plunger.
Spring plungers of this type are installed by maintenance mechanics and toolroom technicians using standard hand tools or an open-end wrench on the threaded body. Always confirm the receiving bore thread specification matches M12x1.75 before installation to avoid cross-threading. De-energize or lock out any associated machine or fixture before servicing or replacing a spring plunger component. Do not over-tighten the body into the threaded housing, as this can compress the spring beyond its rated travel and reduce end force accuracy.
