The GIBRALTAR MDKN50-G is a non-locking knob handle plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and clamping applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. It features an M12x1.75 threaded shank with a 25mm thread length and a Delrin knob head measuring 0.98 inches in diameter. The spring-loaded plunger delivers an initial end force of 0.56 pounds and a final end force of 1.80 pounds, making it suitable for light-duty positioning work. The body length is 1.2 inches, and the maximum plunger diameter is 0.314 inches. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians install this type of plunger in jigs, fixtures, and machine guards where manual hand adjustment is required without the need for a locking mechanism.
This plunger is used in industrial machinery, fixtures, and assembly tooling where a repeatable, hand-operated positioning point is needed. The non-locking configuration allows the plunger to retract freely under load and return under spring force, which is appropriate for applications requiring quick manual engagement and release. Typical install environments include production jigs, conveyor guides, enclosure panels, and light mechanical assemblies where M12 threaded mounting points are present.
Designed as an OEM-style or aftermarket replacement plunger for industrial fixtures, jigs, and mechanical assemblies that use M12x1.75 threaded spring plungers with a non-locking, knob-handle configuration.
Installation requires threading the M12x1.75 shank into a pre-tapped hole or mounting block; a 12mm hex wrench engages the hex feature on the body for tightening. De-energize or lock out any machinery before servicing or replacing plungers mounted on moving assemblies. Do not exceed the rated end force range by substituting a higher-rate spring plunger without verifying fixture load requirements. Follow applicable machinery safety standards and facility lockout/tagout procedures during installation.
