The GIBRALTAR LEP2112-G is a straight ejector pin used in injection mold tooling to push finished parts out of the mold cavity at the end of each cycle. Machined from steel with a nitride finish for surface hardness and wear resistance, this pin measures 9/64 inches in diameter with an overall length of 8 inches and a usable pin length of 7-7/8 inches. The 1/4-inch head diameter and 1/8-inch head height seat the pin securely in the ejector plate. It is installed by moldmakers and toolroom machinists maintaining or building injection mold assemblies.
This ejector pin is suited for use in standard injection mold ejector systems across a range of plastic part production applications. The nitride-treated steel construction provides resistance to galling and wear under repeated cycling. It fits into standard ejector pin retainer plates where a 9/64-inch diameter pin is specified. Ejector pins are installed and serviced by moldmakers and toolroom technicians. The mold must be fully cooled and the injection molding machine must be locked out and de-energized before any ejector system disassembly. Pins should be inspected for straightness and surface condition before installation, and mating bores in the ejector plate should be checked for wear. Do not force-fit pins into undersized bores, as this can cause pin breakage or bore damage.
