The GIBRALTAR KN-10B-G is a brass round knurled check nut threaded to the 10-24 UNC standard. Check nuts, also called jam nuts or lock nuts, are used to lock an adjustment nut in place or to secure a threaded component against loosening from vibration or mechanical movement. This nut is uncoated solid brass, offering natural corrosion resistance in moderate environments. It measures 0.25 inches in overall height with a 0.75-inch head diameter and a 0.5-inch base diameter. The knurled head allows hand-tightening or wrench tightening in tight spaces. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors use check nuts to secure conduit fittings, threaded rods, and panel hardware.
This check nut is suited for light mechanical and electrical assembly applications where a 10-24 UNC threaded fastener is required. The round knurled profile provides grip for hand installation and is commonly found in control panel assemblies, conduit locknut applications, and threaded rod adjustments in HVAC and electrical systems. Its compact profile fits in confined mounting locations where standard hex nuts would not seat properly.
Designed for use with any 10-24 UNC threaded fastener, stud, or fitting in electrical, HVAC, and light mechanical assembly applications.
Check nuts are typically installed by electricians or mechanical technicians as part of conduit, panel, or threaded rod assemblies. Power down or de-energize any panel or circuit before installing hardware in electrical enclosures. Hand-tighten the nut first, then snug with a wrench or pliers as needed. Follow applicable NEC requirements when using check nuts in electrical conduit or panel applications.
