The GIBRALTAR IPG-121-G is a Style B, knob-handle indexing plunger designed for use in positioning, locating, and locking applications on machinery, fixtures, and industrial equipment. Built from steel, it features a 3/8-24 thread size with a thread length of 0.591 inches (15mm) and a non-locking plunger with a 0.197-inch (5mm) diameter. The plunger delivers an initial end force of 5 newtons and a final end force of 12 newtons, making it well suited for moderate-duty indexing tasks. A lock nut is included. Mechanical technicians and machine builders install this type of plunger as part of adjustment mechanisms, detent assemblies, and positioning stops on a range of industrial and production equipment.
The IPG-121-G fits into applications where precise, repeatable positioning is required without a locking mechanism. Typical use cases include jig and fixture construction, machine tool setups, material handling equipment, and general industrial assembly stations. The knob handle allows for tool-free manual actuation, making it practical in applications where frequent repositioning is needed during production or maintenance operations. The included lock nut provides secure mounting to panels or brackets of appropriate thickness.
Designed as a standard 3/8-24 threaded indexing plunger for use in jigs, fixtures, machine tools, and industrial positioning applications where a non-locking Style B knob-handle plunger is specified.
Installation is typically performed by mechanical technicians or machine builders using standard hand tools. Ensure the mounting panel or bracket is powered down or de-energized before installation where applicable. Thread the plunger into the mounting hole to the appropriate depth and secure with the included lock nut to prevent backing out under vibration. Do not overtighten the lock nut in a way that could deform the mounting surface or affect plunger travel.
