The GIBRALTAR HEP3556-G is a straight ejector pin used in injection mold tooling to push finished parts out of the mold cavity at the end of each cycle. Machined from steel with a nitride finish for surface hardness and wear resistance, this pin measures 1/16 inch in diameter with an overall length of 6 inches. The head diameter is 1/4 inch and the head height is 1/8 inch, giving the pin a positive shoulder for seating in the ejector plate. Mold makers, tool and die technicians, and injection molding maintenance crews rely on standardized ejector pins like this one to keep production tooling running consistently.
This ejector pin is suited for use in plastic injection molds, die casting tooling, and similar ejection systems where small-diameter pins are required to clear tight core geometry or thin-wall sections. Its straight profile makes it a direct fit for standard ejector pin bores without custom grinding. The nitride surface treatment extends service life in high-cycle mold applications by reducing friction and resisting galling against the mold plate.
Designed as a standard-profile replacement ejector pin for plastic injection molds and die casting tooling requiring a 1/16 inch diameter straight ejector pin with a 1/4 inch head diameter.
Ejector pin replacement is performed by mold makers or toolroom technicians during scheduled mold maintenance or after pin failure. The mold must be fully de-energized, cooled, and removed from the press before ejector plate disassembly begins. Inspect the ejector plate bore for wear or damage before installing the new pin, and confirm pin length is appropriate for the mold stack before reassembly.
