The GIBRALTAR GSI40 is a sliding arm bar clamp engineered for high-force clamping applications in fabrication, metalworking, and industrial assembly. Built to the GSI series standard, it delivers 2,600 pounds of clamping pressure through an alloy steel spindle and T-handle drive. The forged steel frame and forged steel pad material provide the structural integrity needed for demanding hold-and-press operations. A nickel finish adds corrosion resistance for shop environments. The 30.00 mm by 15.00 mm rail size gives the sliding arm a stable, repeatable travel path. At 3.4 pounds, it is heavy enough to hold its position without being unwieldy during single-handed setup.
The GSI40 is suited for metal fabrication shops, welding fixtures, woodworking benches, and general industrial assembly where consistent, repeatable clamping force is required. The 5.5-inch throat depth accommodates workpieces and fixtures that exceed the reach of standard-depth bar clamps. The T-handle design allows controlled torque application without the need for a separate wrench, making it practical for repeated open-and-close cycles during production runs or one-off fabrication work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade within the GIBRALTAR GSI series sliding arm bar clamp line, compatible with applications requiring a 30.00 mm by 15.00 mm rail profile and 5.5-inch throat depth.
Installation and setup are performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians familiar with mechanical clamping equipment. Before adjusting or repositioning the clamp under load, relieve clamping pressure fully to avoid sudden release. Inspect the spindle threads and sliding arm rail for wear or contamination before each use. Do not exceed the rated 2,600 lb clamping pressure, as overloading the spindle or frame can cause component failure.
