The GIBRALTAR GSI30 is a sliding arm bar clamp designed for heavy-duty workholding in fabrication, assembly, and industrial applications. It delivers 2,600 lb of clamping pressure with a 5.5-inch throat depth, making it well suited for gripping large or irregularly shaped workpieces. The T-handle design allows for controlled, repeatable pressure application. The frame and pad are constructed from forged steel, while the spindle is alloy steel, giving this clamp the structural integrity required for demanding production environments. A nickel finish provides basic corrosion resistance. The rail is sized at 30 mm x 15 mm. This is a tool installed and used by machinists, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians.
The GSI30 is used in metalworking shops, production assembly lines, welding setups, and heavy fabrication environments where high clamping force is required. Its sliding arm design allows for rapid jaw adjustment before final tightening, reducing setup time when working with varying stock thicknesses. The 5.5-inch throat depth accommodates deeper workpieces that standard C-clamps or light-duty bar clamps cannot reach. This clamp is appropriate for both benchtop fixturing and fixture-plate applications in commercial and industrial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct fitment for applications requiring a Series GSI sliding arm bar clamp with a 30 mm x 15 mm rail and 5.5-inch throat depth.
Ensure the workpiece surfaces are clean and free of burrs before seating the clamp pads to prevent marring or uneven load distribution. Tighten the T-handle by hand to the required clamping force — do not use additional leverage tools on the handle, as this can exceed the rated clamping load and damage the spindle or frame. Inspect the forged steel frame and alloy steel spindle for cracks or deformation before each use, particularly in high-cycle production environments.
