The GIBRALTAR GIB53710 is a round U-bolt with a mount plate, designed to secure 3-1/2 inch pipe in mechanical, plumbing, and structural support applications. Manufactured from C-1010 steel with a hot galvanized finish, this U-bolt resists corrosion in wet and outdoor environments. The 1/2-13 UNC thread with a 1-1/2 inch thread length provides a reliable clamping interface, and the included mount plate allows direct attachment to a flat surface or structural member. Two hex nuts are included. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this hardware for pipe support and restraint work on a wide range of installations.
The GIB53710 is suited for use in commercial and residential mechanical systems where pipe support and anchoring are required. The round profile conforms to the pipe OD, distributing load evenly around the pipe wall. The hot galvanized finish makes it appropriate for outdoor, underground-adjacent, or high-moisture environments. This U-bolt is typically installed by plumbers, pipefitters, or general mechanical contractors as part of a pipe hanger or support assembly. No additional hardware is needed to complete a standard installation, as the mount plate and two nuts are included in the package.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fastener for pipe support applications requiring a round U-bolt sized for 3-1/2 inch pipe with 1/2-13 UNC threading.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Ensure the mounting surface is structurally adequate to carry the pipe load before securing the mount plate. Use properly rated fasteners to attach the mount plate to the support structure. Inspect the hot galvanized coating for damage before installation in corrosive environments and address any bare spots before placing the fastener in service.
