The GIBRALTAR GIB53205 is a round U-bolt designed to secure pipe in fixed installations. Manufactured from C-1010 steel with a zinc-plated finish, it provides corrosion resistance suitable for indoor mechanical and plumbing applications. The bolt carries a 3/8-16 UNC thread with a 2-3/8 inch thread length and a 3-inch overall length. It ships without a mount plate and includes four nuts, making it ready for immediate installation. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this type of hardware to anchor pipe runs to structural members or framing.
This U-bolt is sized for 1/2 inch pipe and fits the standard pipe-hanger applications found in residential and light commercial mechanical systems. The round shape conforms to the pipe profile for consistent clamping. The zinc plating helps resist oxidation in typical interior environments. The 15/16 inch width and included hardware allow direct installation without sourcing additional nuts. This hardware is commonly installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters during rough-in and trim-out phases of pipe support work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment U-bolt for 1/2 inch pipe support applications in residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off the relevant system and relieve pressure before repositioning or replacing pipe supports. Secure the U-bolt to a structural member rated to carry the pipe load, and torque nuts evenly to prevent distortion of the pipe. Follow applicable IPC and local mechanical code requirements for pipe-support spacing and fastener selection.
